SET Financial is a lead-connection service for new loan requests, not the lender. Not everyone who applies will be matched or approved.

Connecting Pennsylvania Residents with Lenders

SET Financial is not a lender in Pennsylvania. We are a free connection service that matches Pennsylvania residents with third-party lenders who review each request and make all credit decisions. Requests from people with bad, thin, or limited credit are welcome, though approval, rates, and terms are set entirely by the lender.

An installment loan gives you a lump sum you repay in fixed, scheduled payments over a set period, which makes budgeting more predictable than open-ended credit. Pennsylvania residents commonly use personal and installment loans to consolidate higher-interest debt, cover car or home repairs, handle medical or dental bills, manage moving costs, or bridge an unexpected expense between paychecks.

Who the Network Works With in Pennsylvania

Bad credit

A past-due history does not automatically disqualify you. Some lenders in our network consider applicants with poor credit, though the lender alone decides on approval, rate, and terms.

Thin or no credit

If you have little or no credit history, certain lenders may weigh income and bank activity instead of relying only on a score. Being matched is never a guarantee of approval.

Self-employed or 1099 income

Freelancers and contractors can request a match. Lenders may ask for bank statements, tax records, or other proof of income to verify earnings before making any decision.

Fixed income

Applicants on Social Security, disability, retirement, or other fixed income can submit a request. The lender determines whether the income supports the loan and sets all terms.

Pennsylvania Rates and Your Protections

Pennsylvania is a relatively strict lending environment. Consumer lending is regulated by the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities, and companies making consumer loans of $25,000 or less generally must be licensed under the Consumer Discount Company Act (CDCA). Licensed consumer discount companies may charge higher rates than the general 6% limit that the Loan Interest and Protection Law sets for unlicensed lenders, with the CDCA framework allowing licensed lenders to charge up to roughly 24% per year on qualifying loans. SET Financial does not lend or set rates in Pennsylvania. Your actual APR, fees, and terms are determined solely by the lender you are matched with.

You can confirm a lender is licensed by checking the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities (including its NMLS Consumer Access listings), and you should always review the exact APR, fees, and repayment terms disclosed in your loan agreement before you sign.
