Credit Bureau Information
Information about credit reporting and how to submit a dispute.
You deserve credit
SET Financial is a licensed lender that services existing customer accounts. For accounts we service, SET Financial may report account and payment information to consumer reporting agencies as permitted or required by law. SET Financial does not obtain or pull a credit report when you submit a new lender-network request.
Disputing information we report
To protect your rights regarding any disputed information that SET Financial reports on an account we service, you must do the following:
- Submit your dispute in writing to SET Financial by email to grievance@setfinancial.com.
- Sufficiently identify your account relationship with SET Financial, such as your name, phone number, address, account number, etc.
- Specify the information SET Financial reports to the credit bureaus and why you are disputing it. In other words, please tell us what you believe is incorrect.
- Provide documentation or other information to support your dispute. For example, submit a screenshot or copy of the relevant section of a credit report that, in your view, contains inaccurate information, account statements, a copy of a police report, an affidavit of forgery, etc.
Failure to meet any of the above requirements may delay SET Financial's response and the resolution of your dispute. In most cases, SET Financial will respond to your dispute notice in writing within 14 business days. The response will be either through postal mail or electronically based on your account settings.
For a new-loan account held by a third-party lender, disputes about information that lender reports should be directed to the lender that holds your account. If you believe SET Financial received a dispute in error, you may contact us in writing at grievance@setfinancial.com.
If you have additional questions, please contact SET Financial Corporation by phone at 800-803-2510.
