Personal Loans in North Dakota

Connecting North Dakota Residents with Lenders
SET Financial is not a lender and does not make loans in North Dakota. We are a matching service that connects North Dakota residents with third-party lenders in our network, and those lenders make every credit decision. Borrowers with bad credit or thin or limited credit history are welcome to submit a request and see whether a participating lender may be a fit.
An installment loan gives you a set amount of money up front that you repay in fixed, scheduled payments over a defined term, so the payment amount stays predictable. North Dakotans commonly use installment and personal loans for vehicle repairs, medical or dental bills, home or heating costs during long winters, debt consolidation, moving expenses, or bridging a gap between paychecks. SET Financial does not lend or set terms. We only pass your request to third-party lenders who decide whether to offer a loan and on what terms.

Who the Network Works With in North Dakota
Bad credit
A low credit score does not automatically end your request. Some lenders in our network review bad credit applicants, though approval, rates, and terms are always the lender's decision. Approval is never guaranteed.
Thin or no credit
If you have little or no credit history, certain lenders may look at income, employment, and banking activity instead of relying only on a score. SET Financial simply passes your request along for that review.
Self-employed or 1099 income
Freelancers, gig workers, and contractors can submit a request. Lenders may ask for bank statements, invoices, or tax documents to confirm 1099 income, and each lender decides what it accepts.
Fixed income
Income from Social Security, disability, retirement, or benefits may be considered by some lenders. The lender determines whether that income supports the loan and what terms, if any, to offer.
North Dakota Rates and Your Protections
North Dakota regulates consumer lending and loan brokering primarily through the Money Brokers Act (North Dakota Century Code Chapter 13-04.1), administered by the North Dakota Department of Financial Institutions. Under 2023 legislation (SB 2103), finance charges on installment loans made by licensed money brokers are limited to a 36 percent annual rate, and late or nonpayment fees are capped for larger loans. Rates and terms depend on the individual lender, the loan, and your qualifications. SET Financial does not set rates or terms and does not lend in North Dakota. Every lender is responsible for its own licensing and compliance.
Before you sign, confirm the lender is licensed to operate in North Dakota through the North Dakota Department of Financial Institutions, and review the APR, total finance charge, payment schedule, and all fees on your loan agreement.
